Betfair Place Betting UK Horse Races

I have written one book on UK handicap horse racing that looks for betting opportunities in the Betfair place betting market for 2,3 and 4 places. This is available to purchase on our website.

I like betting on the Betfair place betting market as it can complement the corresponding win market. I will give you an example of this. But I use this also when the win bet might just be a bit harder due to the competitiveness of the race and the decimal odds are short based on the horse’s form. If we have a horse that is 20.0 in decimal odds, and we have a favourite which is decimal odds 2.5 ( 6/4) then I would rather back the decimal odds 20.0 for a place.

Now you might say oh, but you have a risk here because the short priced favourite will knock a place out in the corresponding Betfair place market. In other words, it has a good chance of getting placed. But if you can aim for the 4 place market then all well and good and you have 3 places left to aim for.

Now let me present this opportunity here, if you can study horse form very well and these opportunities do not come up that often. Try and find a horse in a UK handicap race with shortish decimal odds try and get this beaten but just not beaten but not in the first 3 places.

It is hard but worth it!

Tips to do this

I say this all the time look for stamina sapping courses.

Horses having had a hard season.

Horses on the bounce.

Horses on the mini bounce.

Horses that have run up a sequence of wins.

Market hyped horses.

Inadequate race distances.

Sketchy jumpers.

Horses favouring left- or right-handed courses.

Trainers with a poor record at the course.

Advice Take It Or Leave It

Do you study one race or N races that is the question?

Where N is a numerical value.

Why not study one race and raid the place market with confidence.
